  4. -Uses the GameSpy In-Game server browser engine
  5. -10 to 20 times faster than the regular browser
  6. -Can handle over 5000 servers (the regular browser maxes out at 128)

  16. Installation
  17. ------------
  18. Unzip into your base Quake 3 directory (where your Quake3.exe is).
  19.  
  20. When you start the game, the Multiplayer menu item should be green. If it's 
  21. not, the DLL did not load correctly.
  22. -Make sure you have the latest version of Quake 3
  23. -Make sure the uix86.dll is in the same directory as quake3.exe
  24. -Try typing "set vm_ui 0" then "vid_restart" at the console
  25. -If you get kicked back to the console after trying to connect to a server,
  26.  it's probably a PURE server that has not upgraded to the latest version
  27.  (make sure YOU have!).

  32. Usage
  33. -----
  34. The new browser works almost exactly like the old one (except faster and better).
  35. Just select the game type and it will start refreshing automatically.

  37. You can scroll the list using the new scrollbar. To use, click it once, drag
  38. to a new position, then click it again. You can resort the list by changing
  39. the sort option.

  41. By default, the server browser queries 20 servers at a time. You can configure
  42. this number by setting the "ui_browserMaxUpdates" console variable. You will need
  43. to type "vid_restart" for the change to take effect. Try a lower number (like 10)
  44. if you are on a modem and the ping times are way off.
